MeT Predicts Moderate to Heavy Rainfall
Srinagar, July 29: Incessant rains on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday have resulted in the closure of Kashmir’s famed Mughal Road.
The Meteorological Department in Jammu and Kashmir on July 29 predicted “fairly widespread light to moderate rain and thunderstorm” during the next 24 hours till July 30.
The capital city of Srinagar recorded 11.7mm rainfall while the tourist resort Pahalgam 8.1mm, north Kashmir’s Kupwara 8.8mm and Gulmarg 7.2mm. Meanwhile, the Jammu plains recorded 33.8mm rainfall. Similarly, the Chenab Valley and Pir Panchal regions also recorded moderate to heavy rainfall.
At many places the farmers have complained damage to their crops and livestock.
