Pakistan Political Crisis— After Dissolution of National Assembly, Pakistan Nominates a Caretaker Prime Minister



Islamabad, 12 August: Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakkar, a Pakistani senator, has been named as caretaker Prime Minister to oversee the upcoming national elections.

According to the Pakistan Prime Minister’s office said on 11 August that following a meeting between outgoing premier Mian Shehbaz Sharif and opposition leader Raja Riaz, the name of Kakkar was agreed upon as a caretaker Prime Minister.

Meanwhile, former Prime Minister and PTI chief Imran Khan continues to languish in prison.
